New Zealand travel.
Travel in NZ is mainly "DIY". New Zealand families have at least one car and sometimes two or three. This has resulted in a culture where, outside of the major cities, public transport is very limited. The best way to travel in New Zealand is to hire some form of transportation or take a guided tour.
Travelling in New Zealand on an organised tour will suit some people, however this website is designed for those who wish to travel independently. Travelling independently will offer some challenges as public transport is limited in all but the bigger cities. You will need some form of transport to see the more remote parts of NZ unless you want to back-pack. Many backpackers buy a cheap car on arrival and sell it before leaving. Be careful as there are many car sharks out there to take you money for shoddy goods.
We will cover the different styles of transport available and tell you the pro's and con's of each. We will make recommendations only where we know you will get good service.
New Zealand accommodation.

Accommodation in New Zealand ranges from the absolute luxury of unique lodges in remote scenic locations, where you will be pampered by professionally trained staff, to basic campsites, where you pitch a lighweight dome tent on your own little patch of NZ and get a cold shower included in the price.
We don't aspire to luxury accommodation, we prefer motel accommodation and camping to pampering and for those who want absolute luxury we can and will direct you to websites that specialise in the provision of it.
Kiwis are renowned for genuine friendly hospitality. The purpose of this website is to introduce you to the people who provide genuine friendly accommodation at a reasonable price and to direct you to the best that New Zealand has to offer.
